It’s that time of year again for science fiction and fantasy writers to polish their pitches for Dan Koboldt’s #SFFpit writing contest on twitter! It runs on February 3, 2021 between 8am-6pm EST. This contest allows 10 pitches total (one per hour), so use them wisely! As usual, it needs to be a 280 character pitch for twitter including the hashtag #SFFpit. For all the rules, including how to properly insert the age group and category, go here. And remember to research any agents or editors that favorite your tweet because ANY ONE can trawl the feed!

LatinxPitch is a kidlit pitching event for creators of children’s literature who belong to the Latinx community. The event was created to raise up Latinx voices and increase a diverse representation in children’s literature. All kidlit Latinx unagented and agented authors and/or illustrators are permitted to participate. Kidlit includes board books, picture books, chapter books, middle grade, graphic novels and young adult.

The event will take place on Twitter September 15, 2020 from 8am to 8pm EST. Be sure to use the hashtag #LatinxPitch. Agented authors and illustrators should check with their agents before participating and must include the hashtag #Editor to indicate they are looking for an editor and not an agent. #PitchCB for October!

#PitchCB is Curtis Brown and Conville & Walsh’s own monthly Twitter novel pitching party, hosted by Richard Pike of C + W. On each #PitchCB day, writers searching for an agent can tweet a one-line pitch for their work. The pitch must be 140 characters or less, using the hashtag #PitchCB. Book agents will be online for each event to read each pitch and will be inviting successful authors to submit directly to them.

A.M. Heath is hosting a week long event of pitches on twitter for unpublished writers seeking agent representation. Each day will focus on a different genre of fiction and authors are invited to tweet one pitch for their polished manuscript on the relevant day using the hashtag #TellAMH. The dates and themed events are as follows:

Monday, September 18th: Crime/thriller/psychological suspense
Tuesday, September 19th: Historical fiction
Wednesday, September 20th: Women’s fiction
Thursday, September 21st: Children’s fiction (any age group)
Friday, September 22nd: Wild card (any genre)

A favorite from one of the agents or their assistant invites authors to submit directly to that agent via A.M. Heath website. (Be sure to mention that the tweet was favorited in the submission letter.) And for further excitement, they will select one winning pitch per genre the week commencing September 25, 2017 to receive a critique on the selected authors first 10,000 words!
