@WriteOnCon #Writing #Conference IS Coming!

WriteOnCon

WriteOnCon is “A writing conference you don’t even have to wear pants to. (Please wear pants, though.)” Yep, I love that line! And I’m stoked that it’s almost time! This isn’t just an opportunity to attend a writing workshop, it’s most likely the cheapest and closest conference you’ve ever attend (aside of being free, of course). Seriously, you can participate from your home! And while you might have missed the raffles and perks to buy, there is still time to sign up to join. Admission is either $5 (General Admission), $10 (General + Live Events), or $15 (General + Live Events + Extended Access). You can’t go wrong with any choice!

WriteOnCon is an online conference for kidlit writers and illustrators. Connect with writers, authors, and agents in this event. There will even be ninja agents and editors and live pitch sessions (check the schedule for all 3 days)! But hurry to get registered because it’ll take place February 9th – 11th, 2018.

As always, good luck!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Santa

Wishing all my family, friends, virtual acquaintances, and readers of this blog a Merry Christmas! Safe travels to everyone going out of town. I hope folks have plenty of food to stuff their bellies and joy to fill their hearts.

The holiday season can be very tough for some people, whether it’s a recent loss of a loved one, financial woes, illness, or some other unforeseen event. If it’s within your power, remember those less fortunate. Christmas should be about giving and less about taking. And prayers never hurt either! Send them out to those in need!

May you all be blessed with a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A. M. Heath Twitter Pitch Event For Authors

A.M. HEATH LITERARY AGENTS

A.M. Heath is hosting a week long event of pitches on twitter for unpublished writers seeking agent representation. Each day will focus on a different genre of fiction and authors are invited to tweet one pitch for their polished manuscript on the relevant day using the hashtag #TellAMH. The dates and themed events are as follows:

  • Monday, September 18th: Crime/thriller/psychological suspense
  • Tuesday, September 19th: Historical fiction
  • Wednesday, September 20th: Women’s fiction
  • Thursday, September 21st: Children’s fiction (any age group)
  • Friday, September 22nd: Wild card (any genre)

A favorite from one of the agents or their assistant invites authors to submit directly to that agent via A.M. Heath website. (Be sure to mention that the tweet was favorited in the submission letter.) And for further excitement, they will select one winning pitch per genre the week commencing September 25, 2017 to receive a critique on the selected authors first 10,000 words!

Please be aware that A.M. Heath is based in London so that you pitch your genre on the correct date! Now, get those pitches ready! And don’t forget to check out the participating agents and assistants on their blog post so you don’t get scammed by trolls! As always, good luck!
