2018 Nelson Algren Literary Awards Submissions Ending Soon!

Submissions for the 2018 Nelson Algren Literary Awards (sponsored by the Chicago Tribune) is ending on February 7, 2018 at 11:59pm CST. Entrants must be 18 years of age and submit their original short fiction of up to 8000 words.

Prizes

  • One Grand Prize: $3,500.
  • Four Finalist Prizes: $1,000.
  • Five Runner-up Prizes: $500.

Blue Mountain Arts Biannual Poetry Card Contest

Blue Mountain Arts is holding their thirty-first Biannual Poetry Card Contest.  The winner will be published on their website and there are monetary prizes!

  • 1st prize: $350
  • 2nd prize: $200
  • 3rd prize: $100

  • Poems can be rhyming or non-rhyming.
  • Write about real emotions and feelings.

#PitDark Pitch Party Is Soon!

A cool twitter pitch party is coming on October 26, 2017 and I’m excited! Author Jason Huebinger is the host of #PitDark. This is one of my favorite contests because it’s strictly for manuscripts with darker elements, which is soooo down my alley. The event is between 8am and 8pm EST. Authors may pitch once an hour per manuscript. Please do not clog the feed by over pitching so agents don’t get frustrated and quit reading.
