Avengers Of Colour Mentorship

Avengers Of Colour

Avengers of Colour is a mentorship program created by faridah àbíké-íyímídé for unagented writers of color who are ready to query but need help with their query package. Winners will receive professional help from experienced (agented and traditionally published) authors of color. Feedback will be given on editing the authors first 25 pages of their manuscript, query letter, synopsis and pitches.

Manuscripts must be finished though the query package doesn’t have to be perfect. The mentors will help with that, as long as writers are near ready to query. Current mentors are:

Submissions open August 27, 2020 and close August 31, 2020. The link to the application will go live on the Avengers Twitter at Midnight EST / 5am GMT. Be sure and read the complete guidelines! As always, good luck!

Pikes Peak Writers Conference

Midwest Writers Workshop 2019

Midwest Writers Group

The Midwest Writers Workshop will be held July 25-27, 2019 at the Alumni Center in Muncie, Indiana. You can find the group on twitter @MidwestWriters or the hashtag #MWW to keep up on news. MWW states the mission is to give all writers the opportunity to improve their craft, to associate with highly credentialed professionals, and to network with other writers.

They have sessions with top quality faculty during their three-day program on everything from fiction to nonfiction, marketing, and ways to get your creative juices flowing. The workshop is packed with sessions on the craft of writing and the business of writing.

Midwest Writers Workshop

Often in the universe of writers, there is talk of conferences and workshops. Most of the time they seem to be located in New York or Los Angeles because there are beaucoup agencies in these cities. However, occasionally a few are held in the Midwest.
