DC Comics Talent Development Workshop 2018

Wow! If you’ve ever dreamed of writing for DC Comics, this is your chance. But please note, this is for writer’s who’ve been published. However, the written work does not have to be a comic. They’ll also accept up to two published fiction works that’ll highlight an authors skill as a possible DC writer. By end of the workshop, the participant(s) may obtain a position writing on one of the DC Comic book series.

Submissions open March 1st, 2018 and ends March 31, 2018. They express on the website that files can be large to upload, so don’t wait until the last minute to try. They will not accept resubmission or changes after the deadline. No exceptions.

For complete information on how to enter and the dates of when the workshop will start, go (Link Removed). As always, good luck!

    1. You are not crazy. Not sure how I missed this, or that no one has told me for nearly a month! Thank you for pointing this out. The 2018 should have been under the same link, but nothing was updated. I have reached out to DC Comics to see if they have postponed or decided against doing it this year. I’ll update my blog when I hear back!

      1. Sadly, they have not. With the year nearly over, it looks like they decided to skip 2018. Hopefully they return in 2019, as it’s an exciting opportunity!

  1. Unfortunately, they are not skipping this year. The new showcase will be released on 12/12/18. Somehow, someway DC managed to sneak it under the rug and then reveal it when it has already been done. Like you, I was hoping to see it but was never announced, so the new talents must have been exposed to it by other means.

    1. Well, I’m glad that someone got to take advantage of the opportunity. It is unfortunate that they didn’t do the showcase earlier this year though. Hopefully the next one doesn’t fly under the radar.

  2. Sorry – I’m just trying to make sense of the dates. Did I understand correctly that DC skipped 2018, or they are doing something this December (and we missed it?) or that they’re probably doing something in early 2019? I applied in 2016 and 2017 and even though I didn’t make it, I was very happy that they had this open process.

    1. I’m just as confused as you Derek. I had understood SensationalHoward to say that DC Comics had, in fact, ran the contest by some other way rather than their own website and that winners would be announced December 12, 2018. However, if you look at the Talent Workshop site, no winners have been announced for 2018. It still appears as though they may have skipped the year. I also am very fond of the opportunity DC Comics gives artists and writers during this open submission period for their workshop. Let’s hope they bring it back in 2019!
